CONSIDERABLE MEASUREMENT SIZE OF ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING

MEASUREMENT SIZE OF ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING AND MEASUREMENT SIZE OF DIFFERENT ELEMENT OF A BUILDING

As civil engineer its very important to know about basic parts of engineering knowledge. now i will discus about different types building element’s measurement of structural work at construction site. Without proper construction knowledge, its very difficult to continue the work. so its very important to know about the proper and approximate size and shape of room, toilet, stair, door, washroom, windows etc.

Structures may be classified as building structures and non-construction structures. Structures that enclose a space and are used for different occupancies are to be called buildings or buildings. Structures other than buildings are called non-building structures, such as water tanks, bridges, communication towers, chimneys etc. The word structure(s) will mean non-building structures, e.g. ‘buildings and structures’ or ‘buildings or structures’ when used in conjunction with the word building(s).

 CONSIDERABLE MEASUREMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING

Ø  Height of windows level from floor level is about 2-2.5’.

Ø  Concealed Stop Cock will stay 6’’ bellow from a false ceiling.

Ø  Bib Cock will be above 24’’ to 25’’.

Ø  Ewer tab will be above 12’’ to 14’’.

Ø  Basin will be above 30’’ to 32’’.

Ø  Comod will be 4’’ above form washroom floor level.

Ø  Self will be above 8’’ to 10’’ from basin and glass will be above 6’’ from self.

Ø  Soap case will be the same level of the basin.

Ø  Toilet paper box will be the same level of high comod.

MEASUREMENT FOR DIFFERENT ELEMENT OF A BUILDING

Day by day interest for buildings shape is changing according to the consumer requirement but is should be very careful to consider that shape of the element of a building for a designer. So minimum dimension and size are given in bellow.

É       Plinth: shouldn’t be less than 150 mm or 6’’.
É       Living room:

·         Height- shouldn’t be less than 2.75 m or 9’.

·         Area- shouldn’t be less than 9.5 m2 or 100 sqft.

·         Any sight length- shouldn’t be less than 2.4 m or 7’10’’.

É       Drawing room:

·         Height- shouldn’t be less than 2.75 m or 9’.

·         Area- shouldn’t be less than 9.5 m2 or 100 sqft.

·         Any sight length- shouldn’t be less than 2.4 m or 7’10’’.

É       Kitchen room:

·         Height- shouldn’t be less than 2.75 m or 9’.

·         Area- shouldn’t be less than 5 m2

·         Any sight length- shouldn’t be less than 1.8 m.

É       Toilet:

·         Height- shouldn’t be less than 2 m.

·         Area- shouldn’t be less than 1.8 m2

É       Storeroom:

·         Height- shouldn’t be less than 2.2 m.

·         Area- shouldn’t be less than 3 m2.

É       Garage room:

·         Height- shouldn’t be less than 2.4 m.

·         Area- shouldn’t be less than 2.5m X 5m.

É       Stair:

·         Headroom shouldn’t be less than 2.2m.

·         Area- shouldn’t be less than 2.5m X 5m.

·         Hight of steps shouldn’t be less than 150mm.

·         Width of steps shouldn’t be less than 250mm.

·         Width of Stair-

Ø  For residential Building- 1m

Ø  For hall room- 1.5m

Ø  For Commercial building- 2m

É       Ventilation System:

·         For the ventilation system, the minimum free wall should be provided as follow,

Ø  For hot weather, 1/10 of floor area.
Ø  For wet hot weather, 1/6 of floor area.
Ø  For normal weather, 1/8 of floor area.
