What is Burning

Burning is a process of gaining strength of brick at 900-1200 c temperature. Brick burning will be done properly. The brick will not be burnt over, as well as burnt under. Bricks are usually burned either in kilns or in clamps.

Purpose of Brick Burning

  1. To impart hardness.
  2. To impart strength of the brick.
  3. To made the brick dense.
  4. To attain durability.

  • Intermittent Kiln

What is Brick Drying

Drying is a process of removing moisture from the bricks clay.

Purpose of Using Brick Drying

  1. To remove water content to accelerate burning [900-1200 c]
  2. To minimize the cracking and distortion of bricks.
  3. To increase the handling facility.

Types of Brick  Drying

  1. Natural  Drying.
  2. Artificial Drying.
